Another set of 3 photos as part of the depth staging assignment, having the camera focus on an object in the foreground set against a larger background to create a sense of depth. Images partially saturated via photoshop.
Simon, I really like your pictures:) I think that the picture that best represents this assignment would be the one of the fire hydrant and the cars in the background. I think that you should make your backgrounds kind of blurry and take closer pictures of the object, to create depth.
I love how you left color in the focus of the photo. It creates depth in the first and second photo. The last one has the best color but doesn't fit the assignment as well as the others. I love your other set of depth staging as well. The drew one is my favorite. Great job
I think that all your pictures do a good job of capturing the concept behind this shoot. I think the one that best illustrates the concept of the assignment is the picture of the scooter. By only adding color to the scooter, you're making it the main focus of the scene, which creates depth. I really like how you used this technique to create depth. The only thing that you should improve is working on draining out the background more from the scene, that way there would be more depth. Other than that I think this is a great photo set.
Great job on all your pictures! I love how you chose a variety of scenes and did not focus on just one type of object to shoot. My favorite is the first photo because it really draws me in with the depth between the fire hydrant and the street. Although the fire hydrant has other colors besides black and white, it does not take away too much attention from the other areas of the photo. For your third photo, it would better to keep the motorcycle in black and white instead of red. If you would still like to make the photo more dramatic, consider using the contrast and shadowing options on picmonkey.
I really love your pictures, especially the one with the motorcycle. I like how you decided to make the motorcycle in color and have the rest of the photo in black and white which creates a great amount of depth. Maybe next time you could work on making the background blurry.
